| Woke up at 9 o'clock today to go see my mom. She feel on monday, had surgery on tuesday, and finally came home today. It took kaiser a while to settle things and fill out all that paper work. My dad and I had to bring a whole bunch of stuff that were requested by mom. Some shoes, HK tea, a shirt and skirt, pineapple bun, ham and egg bun and some other things. My dad kept forgetting stuff and we didn't leave until 10. My mom had a quick physical therapy session before she left. (so she could learn how to go up the stairs with her bum foot). So we rolled out of the hospital with a wheel chair, walker and crutches. :) The three steps to recovery i suppose. First the wheelchair, then maybe the walker, and if you're really confident, use the crutches. :) Right after my mom got in the car, my dad drove me to the chiropractor. Felt so much better after. I've been complaining about my back since the last week of camptoons. Finally! Some relief Next came a long annoying bus ride home. There were these three high school freshmen girls. Fresh out of middle school. Talking as if they were all that. Then one of them said this really loud when I sat next to one of them. "Do you think she understands?" "what do you mean?" " Do you think she understands english?" In my head, i though how stupid can you be? I'm talking on the phone in plain english! Plus It's not like I'm deaf and I can't hear or understand what you're saying to your friends... Shesh. I ignored them and kept talking on the phone. One of them kept staring at me like i was from outer space. at the time I was talking to my sister about my mom making her way up the front stairs and what the nurses told us at the hospital. And here those girls were discussing about the VMA's and Britney's fat stomach as if it was the end of the world. "Ah High School." How simple life used to be. Finally I got to transfer busses and bought me some lunch. I went home, tended to my mom's foot, and THEN at lunch at 3. What a day. | | |
| I can't believe this is happening again. This is the third time where I'm stuck at home while one of my family members has been emitted to the E.R. The first time was when my dad had a heart attack. The second, when my sister was hit by a car. And now, my mom fell and broke her ankle. It stinks. My dad was the first one to call me and tell me about the incident. He didn't know much, but from what the doctors told him, my mom fell and her coworkers took her to the hospital. Her knee was bruised pretty bad and her ankle was swollen. Once my dad got there, she said my mom was getting xrays for her knee and ankle as well as a CT scan for her head. At first I thought she was just a little clumsy and sprained her ankle. Then my dad called again and told me the doctors said she had broken two bones in her ankle and she would need surgery. The doctors decided that she can go home once she wakes up and come in on friday for her surgery. A few hours later, the doctors were debating whether my mom should say or go home. I've been waiting since 3 o'clock in the afternoon for my mom to come home. It's now 2 am and I haven't heard anything from my dad since 12 am. I really hope my mom will be okay and she can come home soon or I can go visit her. I haven't been able talk to her since the accident. What sucks even more is that my dad's phone died and Kaiser closes their patients phone lines at 10 pm. Great.... | | |
| So my mom bought this ranch popcorn thing from Orville Redenbacher's. Let me just say that ranch is good on many things.... But popcorn is not one of them... It felt like it was only yesterday when I headed towards the airport to visit my sister. Time flew by sooooo fast. Once we got of the plane, we headed over to Melisa's apartment to brush teeth, eat breakfast and chill out for a while. Then we headed over to the Grand Floridian to deliver sourdough to her coworkers and a personal tour of the resort. Had lunch at Joe's crab shack, then checked into the hotel where we all took nice long naps. For dinner, we drove around and found this neat place with awesome Gumbo, Jambalaya and po boys. MmMm... Next day we went to Animal Kingdom where we had turkey leg and watched Finding Nemo the Musical, It's tough to be a Bug and Melisa and I finally got our caricatures done! Later we headed to the Orlando Outlet where we bought shoes and things. On our last day we went to MGM and rode the best coaster ever! the Rock' n' Rollercoaster. Best ride ever! It's like space mountain but 10x better. You go from 0 to 60 in like 2 seconds and you can't even see the tracks. Speakers in the car are playing songs by Aero Smith and there are cool Californian signs as you go through loops and turns. After fun in the park, we were on a hunt to find an authentic sushi place. The cool thing was, we actually found one! :) The waitress spoke japanese and so did the customers. And boy was it a good find! it was just awesome! Lastly, we dropped off Melisa at her apartment, but i wasn't able to go inside the complex because I forgot my ID. Those security guards are insane! Usually, we can just say that we're checking in under Melisa, state our names and her apartment number and all is good. But not this time, the security guards actually asked for ID and photo copied Kevin's driver's license! what weirdo's. When Kevin asked why they photo copied it, the security guard said, "This isn't JUST and apartment complex, it's a COLLEGE PROGRAM." It makes me wonder what kind of people they met before us to have security guards be that anal and strict. I mean their security is stricter than my school and my school is an actual college. | | |
| Lately I've been thinking about where my faith is headed and I've realized that it's really not going anywhere. I've been making up excuses on why I put it on hold. "It's because I didn't like the fellowship at school" or "classes got in the way" or "I came home every weekend" or "my fellowship friends live off campus or graduated". I've tried to do a lot of things on my own, take control of my life, live out my independence, but I failed. I failed to find a church that feels like home, I've failed to keep in touch with my friends and I've failed to exemplify my faith. I just felt like a complete failure after my first year of college. It came to a point where my faith was thrown out the window. I felt like I was about to be one of those kids who were strong in their faith right out of high school and then college took over and they now longer walk with God. All of a sudden I was back to square one. I just wanted to take a break and figure out exactly what I was doing with my life. I want to let go of all the excuses and start from scratch. I want to make Him number one and leave everything else behind. Then I stumbled upon this song that just summed up how I felt. "Fame" by Rush of Fools I have tried to follow, I have tried to lead I have failed at everything I have been the culprit to my selfish needs, made everything but You my King
I couldn't be any less worthy To spend one day much less forever with You
(Chorus 1:) I lift my hands just as I am, I'm letting go of false control I lift my voice, I have no choice My life is Yours, use me for Your fame, Your fame
I have not seen heaven, I haven't seen Your face But I've seen Your Spirit move And Jesus it's amazing the evidence of grace standing all around this room
I'm merely a product of mercy The target and victim of Your perfect love
(Chorus 2:) I lift my hands just as I am, I'm letting go of false control I lift my voice, I have no choice My life is Yours, use me for Your fame, spreading like a flame
Let every breath proclaim glory to Your name You can't be contained and I'll never be the same

| After months of prepping, the day has finally come for me to pack and head over to Orlando. Now, all I have to do is find a way to pack 3 loaves of sourdough bread plus all the frozen dim sum and zhong my mom bought for my sister. I haven't seen her or her roommates since we dropped her off and I'm super stoked. I get to play in walt disney world for free! YEEAHH! Time for some major park hopping. IT's pretty awesome how my sister knows all the cool attractions, ergo I'm going to have a super packed fun filled weekend!
Today's Plan: Watch the Track and Field World Championship in Osaka until Kathy and Kevin pick me up around 5:30ish for dinner then head over to SFO. Leave SFO @ 8:15pm, pit stop @ Vegas then arrive @ MCO around 6:30 in the morning. Super fun night on plane! Hope I sleep well cuz right when I get off, time for disneyworld! whoo! | | |
